Sign-off authority for below-margin quotes
Who can approve discount requests and how they get routed.
Updated 2 July 2026
Sign-off is Jeanus's approval flow for prices that need a second pair of eyes. It exists because a rep should not be able to give a discount so deep that it wipes out the margin without someone senior blessing it.
What triggers a sign-off
- Wholesale. Any offer line whose margin falls below the 8% floor.
- Services. Any line item whose day rate or fixed price falls below the services floor set in Settings > Sign-off.
- Custom rules. You can add other triggers in Settings > Sign-off - percentage discounts over a threshold, total quote value over a limit, or specific products flagged as sign-off-required.
The flow
- The rep builds the quote with a below-floor price. Jeanus flags the line red and swaps the Send button for a Request sign-off button.
- The rep clicks Request sign-off, optionally leaves a note, and picks an approver from the dropdown.
- The approver gets a dashboard notification. They open the request, see the line, the customer, and the note, and approve or reject.
- If approved, the rep can now send the quote. If rejected, the rep sees the reason and adjusts.
Who can approve
By default, anyone with the Admin role. In Settings > Sign-off you can also list specific Manager users as approvers, or route by amount (small discounts to a manager, big discounts to the workspace owner).
Sign-offs are audited.Every approval and rejection is logged with the timestamp, the reason, and the approver. If a customer later queries a price you gave them, the audit trail shows exactly what was signed off and by whom.
