How customer magic-link login works

Passwordless email login, verification, and troubleshooting.

Portal login is passwordless by design. Customers enter their email, get a link, click it, and are in. No password to remember, no password reset flow to build.

The flow

  1. The customer opens the portal login page.
  2. They enter their email address and click Send login link.
  3. Jeanus sends a one-time link to that email. The link is valid for one hour.
  4. They click the link, get redirected to the portal, and are signed in.

What determines who gets in

The email address must match a contact on a customer record in your workspace, and that customer must have portal access enabled. Emails that do not match are shown a generic "check your email" message anyway - we do not leak whether an address is on file.

Sessions

A successful login gives the customer a rolling session that stays valid for 30 days of inactivity. They can sign out from their portal account page any time.

Rep view-as

Reps and admins can click "View as customer" from the CRM customer detail. This drops a temporary cookie that makes the portal treat you as that customer, with an orange "REP MODE" banner across the top so you never forget you are impersonating. Sign out clears the cookie.
