Rep-owned vs shared workspace

The three visibility modes and when to pick which.

Updated 2 July 2026

Jeanus supports three visibility modes for customer and lead data. Picking the right one for your team is one of the most important decisions you will make when setting up the workspace.

Rep-owned

Each rep sees only their own customers and leads. Managers and admins can see everyone. This is the default and works for most sales-led B2B teams where reps have their own patches.

Shared

Everyone sees everything. Suits agencies, small consultancies and any team where account ownership is fluid. You still assign a rep for reporting purposes but there is no visibility wall.

Hybrid

Reps see their own customers by default but can browse the whole customer list read-only. Editing another rep's customer requires a reason and gets logged. Suits growing teams that want a light audit trail without the full rep-owned lockdown.

Where to set it

Settings > Workspace > Visibility mode. Only admins can change this. Switching between modes does not delete or reassign data - it just changes what each user can see.

Rule of thumb. If your reps are protective of their patch, start with Rep-owned. If your team collaborates on accounts, start with Shared. Hybrid is for teams that want both.

How rep-owned affects other pages

  • Dashboard. Shows only the rep's own customers, tasks and targets.
  • Pipeline. Board shows only the rep's leads.
  • Products. Always shared - the product catalogue is business-wide.
  • Reports. Reps see their own data; managers see the team.
