Enrich a lead from a website

Paste a company URL, auto-fill the trading name, sector, description and Companies House info.

Updated 3 July 2026

Enrichment from a website is Jeanus's fastest way to fill in a lead. You paste a company URL (or just their domain), Jeanus fetches the homepage, extracts the trading info with AI, and populates the lead record for you. UK companies also get Companies House data attached automatically.

Where to find it

On any lead or customer detail page, there is an Enrich from website button in the header. There is also an Enrich action on the new-lead form: paste the URL first, hit Enrich, and watch the rest of the form auto-fill.

What gets pulled

  • Company name - the trading name as it appears on the site.
  • Type of business - one sentence describing what they do ("Digital marketing studio serving SaaS clients", "Wholesale distributor of personal care brands").
  • Description - a longer explanation in their own voice where possible.
  • Country - inferred from phone codes, postal addresses, or domain TLD.
  • Categories / sectors - short tags a rep would use to segment them.
  • Year founded, team size hint, LinkedIn URL where discoverable.
  • Companies House (UK only) - official company name, company number, director list, registered address, SIC code.

Re-enriching an existing lead

Websites change. Companies rebrand, pivot, or add product lines. The same Enrich button on the lead detail works as a re-enrich: click it again and Jeanus will fetch a fresh snapshot and update the fields. Existing notes, contacts and tags are preserved.

When to re-enrich.The AI-generated description ages fastest. Re-enrich when a lead has been dormant for 6+ months and you are about to reach out, or if you noticed their site was recently rebuilt. A fresh description helps the AI drafter produce a much sharper personalised email.

What happens if the site is unreachable

If the site is down, blocking bots, or the URL is malformed, Enrich returns a specific error rather than silently filling in nothing. You will see a small error banner explaining what happened. Common cases:

  • Site blocks automated fetches - larger sites with Cloudflare protection may return a 403. Falling back to manual entry is fine.
  • Domain does not resolve - typo or the company is gone. Confirm the URL before retrying.
  • Site returns 500 - transient. Try again in a couple of minutes.

Credit cost

Each enrichment costs 1 AI credit. See AI credits for balances and top-ups.

Related: enrich from a company name

If you do not have a URL, only a company name, use the AI prospect finder instead - you can search for the company by name and description and Jeanus will return the URL and a full profile. See AI prospect finder.
